Delhi Weather Forecast: The India Meteorological Department's (IMD) forecast of significant rainfall in Delhi on Monday proved to be inaccurate; instead, the nation's capital remained dry and experienced a hot day because of high humidity. The highest temperature recorded in Delhi was 36 degrees Celsius, although the heat index, or "real feel" temperature, was 47 degrees Celsius due to humidity levels between 59 and 82 percent.

The IMD updated its daily weather prediction for the Capital twice that day. At 9 AM, the colour-coded alert, which indicates the intensity of weather events, was dropped to "yellow," with light to moderate rain expected throughout the remainder of the day.

This was upgraded to "orange" once more around 1:30 PM, with moderate to heavy rain forecast.

Currently, the IMD has issued an "orange" alert for Tuesday and Wednesday, indicating a chance of moderate to substantial rainfall on both days. The IMD predicted that the minimum temperature will be between 26 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius on the two days, with the maximum expected to drop to 33 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

The IMD warned that projections for a small city like Delhi could be difficult because rain failed to materialise in Delhi despite numerous updates on Monday. The day before, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) revealed plans to enhance local weather forecasting by constructing three more Doppler weather radars (DWRs) in the national capital region (NCR) to supplement the three already in place at Ayanagar, Palam, and Lodhi Road.

According to IMD, maintenance work is being done on the weather radars at Lodhi Road and Palam.
