Delhi Weather Updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday forecast that several regions of Delhi might receive light rain in the upcoming week. It stated that a strong cold wave in the early hours of the day led to a dip in the temperature on Friday. The residents of the capital city experienced cold in these hours as the minimum temperature in the city dropped by 1.3 degrees Celsius.
However, the weather department clarified that the maximum temperature increased by 1.6 degrees Celsius compared to the previous day in the later hours due to bright sunshine. The maximum temperature of Delhi throughout the day was 3 degrees more than the usual temperature.
The IMD stated that a western disturbance will lead to a fresh spell of rains in Delhi. While providing details, the weather department said that the national capital is likely to receive light rain in the late hours of Wednesday and Thursday. It further stated that similar weather conditions can be experienced in the western region of Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming days.
'Cleanest Air In Last Four Months'
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) stated that Delhi on Friday witnessed its cleanest air in the past four months. Though the air quality remained in the medium category, it is likely to get worse in the next week due to the local pollutants. The air quality is expected to get into the poor category on Sunday and over the next few days.

The CPCB informed that the Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi on Friday was 131, adding that the AQI of the national capital was 132 on October 10, 2024. Apart from this, the air quality of other cities in the Near Capital Region (NCR) has also improved in the past few days. While the AQI of Faridabad remained at 110, the AQI of Gurugram and Noida remained at 191 and 111, respectively.
