Delhi Rains: After days of discomfort due to hot and humid conditions, residents of Delhi-NCR witnessed rainfall in parts of the capital on Sunday, bringing much-needed relief from the scorching heat and lowering temperatures by two to three degrees Celsius.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the day is expected to remain partly cloudy with a possibility of thunder and lightning.

Visuals from near Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and central Delhi showed rain lashing several areas around the airport.

“Another spell of very light to light rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds of up to 60 kmph, is expected on June 11 and 12. It may bring down the maximum temperature to around 35–37 degrees Celsius on June 12,” the IMD said.
