Delhi Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday stated that several areas of Delhi-NCR are likely to receive light to moderate rain in the upcoming days. The weather department stated that the rain will be accompanied by a gentle breeze and cloudy skies till July 8. The rain is expected to reduce the maximum temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, providing major relief from the scorching heat. However, the IMD clarified that the Delhiites are not likely to get instant relief from heat, as there is no alert for heavy rain in the national capital in the next few days. It further advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the weather department stated that the national capital is likely to receive light to moderate rain, along with thunderstorms, till July 8. While the residents of Delhi-NCR have been witnessing light rain in bits and pieces, the city is yet to receive heavy rain.

The scorching heat has led to several issues, such as power outages and disruption in water supply in multiple regions. The weather department stated that the minimum temperature was calculated at 27.7 degrees Celsius on Thursday morning, adding that the maximum temperature remained around 36 degrees Celsius.

The occasional rains have slightly improved the air quality in the national capital, as the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 70 in the early hours of Thursday. The IMD assured that the rain in the upcoming days will further improve the air quality of the city.
