Delhi woke up to another cold day on Wednesday with the temperature dropping to 4 degrees Celsius. However, there was a bit of respite from the fog but cold waves amid the mercury drop posed a challenge to the residents of the national capital.
Several flights operating from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport were delayed due to the unfavourable weather conditions. Several were cancelled as well. Similarly, train services in Delhi have also been largely affected due to hazy weather in north India.

The minimum temperature in Delhi remained below four degrees Celsius for the fourth consecutive day. The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 3.5 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. While the maximum temperature was 17.4 degrees Celsius. The IMD has predicted dense fog and extremely cold weather conditions for the next four days.
A fog advisory was issued by the weather department for Wednesday in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, north Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh.

For the first time in Punjab this winter, the temperature went below zero degrees Celsius on Monday morning. It was -0.2 degrees Celsius in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, while the temperature there on Sunday morning was zero degree. Haryana also shivered at close to zero degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature was 0.4 degrees in the morning in Mahendragarh, where it was 2 degrees at 8.30 am on Sunday, as per a bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department.
