Delhi Weather Update: Delhi is set to experience a rise in temperatures as bright sunshine continues throughout the day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that the maximum temperature could increase by up to 2 degrees C over the next couple of days. On Tuesday, the Safdarjung Observatory recorded temperatures slightly below normal. While most parts of the city saw clear skies and strong sunlight, cool northwesterly winds kept the temperature from rising too quickly.
On Tuesday, Delhi’s maximum temperature was recorded at 30.7 degrees C, which is 0.6 degrees C below normal, while the minimum temperature was 14.6 degrees C, nearly 1.9 degrees C lower than usual. IMD forecasts suggest that Wednesday will be warmer due to strong sunshine, and by Thursday, temperatures could rise by 6-7 degrees C. Some areas of the city may even touch 38 degrees C. However, relief could come over the weekend with the possibility of light rain.
Delhi Air Quality: Cleanest Air in Three Years
In a positive development, Delhi recorded its cleanest air in three years last Saturday. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9 AM on Tuesday stood at 130, placing it in the ‘moderate’ category. On Saturday, the AQI had dropped to 85, making it the cleanest air recorded between January and mid-March in the past three years.
