Delhi Weather: After a brief spell of storms and rain, the heat has returned to Delhi, with rising temperatures and increased humidity making conditions more uncomfortable. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), similar weather is expected to continue through Thursday, with relief likely to arrive from Friday night as another round of storms and rainfall is anticipated.
On Tuesday, clear skies and bright sunshine dominated the day. The maximum temperature reached 37.4°C, 3 degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.6°C, a degree below average. Humidity levels fluctuated between 87% and 46% throughout the day.
The IMD has forecast partly cloudy skies and a possibility of thunderstorms on Wednesday, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to reach 39°C and 27°C, respectively. A yellow alert has been issued for both Thursday and Friday, signaling potential weather-related disruptions as storm activity is expected to resume by the weekend.
Thunderstorms and light rain, with wind speeds reaching up to 60 km/h, are likely on Thursday and Friday in Delhi. These weather changes are expected to bring a noticeable drop in temperature, providing relief from the rising heat. The last two days of Nautapa- June 1-2, are predicted to be cooler, marking a milder start to June after a hot May.
Air Quality Remains Moderate In Delhi-NCR
Delhi’s air quality continues to remain under control. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the city's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 133 on Tuesday, placing it in the ‘moderate’ category. Nearby NCR cities also reported similar AQI levels, which are considered satisfactory. No significant deterioration in air quality is expected in the coming days.
