A woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband over dissatisfaction with their sexual relationship, police said. On Sunday evening, Farzana Khan, 29, arrived at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Delhi’s Nihal Vihar with her husband, Mohammad Shahid alias Irfan, 32, claiming he had attempted suicide.
However, doctors found three deep stab wounds on his body, including one that had pierced his heart. Multiple injuries were also discovered on his intestines, prompting the hospital to alert the police.

Initially, Farzana told officers that her husband was mentally distressed due to losses in online gambling and had taken his own life. But the nature of the wounds led investigators to suspect foul play.
As the investigation deepened, police examined Farzana’s mobile phone and uncovered key evidence. Her recent search history included queries about sulphas (a toxic substance) and how to delete WhatsApp chats.
Confronted with this information during a second round of questioning, Farzana confessed to killing her husband. She claimed her motive was sexual dissatisfaction. However, police are continuing their investigation to determine if other factors were involved in the crime.
In a separate incident, a 36-year-old man’s death in Delhi’s Uttam Nagar, initially believed to be an accidental electrocution, has turned out to be a murder. Karan Dev was declared dead at a Janakpuri hospital on July 13, with his wife Sushmita claiming he had received an electric shock at home. However, police grew suspicious and insisted on a post-mortem despite the family's resistance. Days later, a recovered Instagram chat between Sushmita and Karan’s cousin Rahul revealed a murder plot, prompting police to arrest both for their role in the killing.

According to the police, Sushmita and Rahul had tried to poison Karan by mixing 15 sleeping pills in his food. When that failed, they allegedly electrocuted him to make it look like an accident. In the chat, Sushmita sought guidance on how to proceed when the pills didn’t work, and Rahul advised giving him a shock and using tape to restrain him. The post-mortem and the chat evidence, submitted by Karan’s younger brother Kunal, led to the registration of an FIR. Both accused have confessed, with Sushmita citing abuse and monetary demands by her husband as motives.
