Delhi-NCR Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a maximum temperature of around 35 degrees C and a minimum of 24 degrees C for the capital. The weather across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) will remain unstable on Monday, with high humidity and rising temperatures continuing to affect daily life. Despite intermittent cloud cover and the possibility of light, scattered rainfall in some areas, most parts of the region are expected to remain largely dry today.
The fluctuating weather with clear skies turning cloudy within minutes, followed by brief rain and sudden sunshine has led to increased discomfort among residents. This pattern has also triggered a noticeable uptick in seasonal illnesses, particularly cases of viral fever, colds, and throat infections.

Delhi-NCR Weather On Sunday
On Sunday, 7 September, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 34.4 degrees C, while the minimum settled at 25.1 degrees C, marginally below the seasonal average. Relative humidity stood at 80% at 5:30 PM, further amplifying the discomfort.
According to the IMD’s latest bulletin, there is no alert for heavy rain today, though brief spells of light showers may occur in isolated areas due to cloud movement. However, consistent rainfall remains unlikely, and the prevailing weather conditions are expected to persist over the next few days.
Rain activity was minimal across the city on Sunday. Mayur Vihar received the highest rainfall at 16 mm, Ridge recorded 5.7 mm, Pitampura saw 1.5 mm. Other weather stations including Safdarjung, Palam, Ayanagar, Pusa, Janakpuri, and Najafgarh reported no measurable rainfall.
Meanwhile, the city’s air quality remained in the ‘Satisfactory’ category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 74 at 4 PM on Sunday.
Neighbouring cities including Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad reported similar weather conditions, with rising temperatures and limited rainfall. Residents experienced short bursts of rain lasting just a few minutes, followed by sunny intervals, which contributed to increased humidity.
