The Hanumant Katha recitation by Bageshwar Dham's Dhirendra Shashtri entered its fourth day on Tuesday in Bihar. Dhirendra Shastri received a warm welcome at the Mahavir Temple today afternoon. Shastri, also known as Baba Bageshwar Dham, also offered prayers at the Mahavir Temple along with temple priest Acharya Kishore Kunal.

A large number of people also gathered at the temple to catch a glimpse of Dhirendra Shastri, who met and greeted the devotees personally amid chants of Jai Shri Ram and Jai Baba Bageshwar. People from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Bengal, Assam and Jharkhand have gathered to attend the Hanumant Katha recitation.

Meanwhile, Dhirendra Shastri's Bihar visit has also been politicised. BJP MP Ram Kripal Yadav on Monday accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led government of mismanagement after hundreds of devotees fell sick during the 'Divya Darbar' session of Dhirendra Shastri in Naubatpur. MP Yadav said that hundreds of devotees fell sick during Sunday's session due to high humidity and the heavy crowd inside the venue.

"The devotees came in large numbers and the police were not able to control the crowd. There was no drinking water facility arranged inside the venue, all this clearly shows the state government's mismanagement", he said, as quoted by ANI.

Will visit Bihar again in September: Dhirendra Shastri

Dhirendra Shastri on Monday announced that he would hold a darbar in Gaya on September 29. Bihar is seeing a sharp rise in Baba's fan base. After Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, Bihar is now seeing a surge in his followers. He has been reciting Hanumant Katha in Naubatpur town of Patna district since May 13.

According to the organizers of the event, more than three lakh devotees reached the venue for the event which was beyond the expected count. Also, the temperature in Patna was over 42 degrees on Sunday which resulted in many devotees falling sick due to the scorching heat. After the incident, Baba Bagheshwar Dham's Dhirendra Shastri requested the devotees to avoid coming in large numbers as the temperature remains high in the district.
