Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh and Ludhiana Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur received bomb threats against their home on Monday. The Municipal Commissioner has received an email.
According to officials, the email was sent on Monday morning, May 25, to the Municipal Commissioner and other government email IDs. The subject line of the mail reportedly read, “B0mb Blast - Mayor Office Ludhiana!”
The threat email reportedly referred to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and used the phrase “blood for blood.” It further claimed that bomb attacks would continue until June 6.
The threat mail states that the bombs will explode at the homes of the mayor and Diljit Dosanjh. It threatened to detonate the mayor's home at 1:11 pm and a blast at Daljit Dosanjh's village home at 9:11 pm.
The names of the Khalistan National Army, Engineer Gurnakh Singh, Rukn Shahwal, Doctor Gurniveer Singh, and Khan Razada have also been named in the email, Jagran reported. Following this threatening email, security arrangements have been tightened at the Mayor's Camp Office.
Authorities have launched an urgent investigation to trace the IP address and identify the sender of the email. Security around the Mayor’s Office and other sensitive locations is also expected to be tightened.

Complaint Against Mayor's Husband
A few days ago, a local teacher accused Kaur's husband of sexual harassment. The woman also released purported chats and recordings of the accused. According to the information available, the woman had been levelling sexual harassment allegations against Anand through social media statements for a few days.
She alleged Anand used “obscene and vulgar” language while chatting with her. The woman stated that she forwarded the chat to Mayor Kaur on April 15 and lodged a complaint, but the latter “ignored” it.

The Mayor, however, said the matter should be thoroughly probed by the police. An investigation should be done and whosoever is found guilty should be punished. The truth will prevail, Mayor Kaur added.
