Diwali Celebration Video: The entire country celebrated the Festival of Lights on Sunday with buildings decorated with earthen lamps and colourful lights. Diwali, one of the most popular festivals in India, is associated with the day Lord Ram is believed to have returned to Ayodhya with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman after defeating Ravan during his 14 years in exile. The festival is seen as a celebration of the victory of good over evil.

Dressed in their finest, people exchanged sweets and gifts, listed temples, and greeted each other. President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people of the country and hoped the festival would bring happiness and wellbeing. Prime Minister Modi, like previous years, celebrated Diwali with soldiers. This time, he celebrated it in Lepcha, Himachal Pradesh.

Amid the degrading air quality in the national capital, Delhi recorded its best air quality on Diwali in the last eight years on Sunday, reports news agency PTI. However, the pollution level may rise due to firecrackers and low night temperatures. The national capital experienced clear skies and sunshine; besides, the city's 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 218 at 4 p.m., the best in at least three weeks.
