DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin News: Amid the ongoing talks regarding his elevation as Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister, DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin has played down speculations stating that such decisions will be taken by chief minister MK Stalin, He further requested the media to not take a call on the CM’s behalf.
On the Deputy CM post, Udhayanidhi asked, "Who said like that?""CM will take the decision, and you don't take a decision on it. All ministers are and will be with the CM. You have to ask the CM. It is totally the CM's right to decide about it," he added, as quoted by news agency ANI.
As per reports, DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin is expected to be appointed as the deputy chief minister of Tamil Nadu. At present, he is holding the position of Sports and Youth Welfare Minister in the Tamil Nadu government. He also oversees the key portfolio of Special Programme Implementation. Ahead of his visit to the United States earlier this month, chief minister MK Stalin had reportedly hinted at elevating Udhayanidhi to the position of deputy CM.

"There are many news reports on the Deputy CM elevation. I have said to the press before that all ministers in our government are Deputy Chief Ministers," he told reporters in July.

Earlier on September 2, Udhayanidhi Stalin had come in for effusive praise from the Tamil Nadu chief minister for the successful conduct of India's first F4 Night Street Car Race in Chennai. In a post on X Stalin said a huge applause should be given to Udhayanidhi and the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu for making the F4 car race a "roaring success."
