Dubai Attack: A fire broke out at the 23 Marina Tower in Dubai on Saturday after an Iranian drone struck the skyscraper. The attack came amid a wave of missile and drone launched by Tehran, which it said were retaliation for the US-Israeli strikes carried out on February 28.

The residential tower, situated in the Dubai Marina waterfront, was seen emitting heavy smoke that could be spotted from nearby areas. Several videos circulating on the internet showed flames and dark smoke billowing from the structure, though officials have not yet released complete information about the scale of the damage or possible casualties.

“Authorities confirm that debris resulting from a successful interception caused a minor incident on the façade of a tower in Dubai Marina. The situation has been contained. No injuries were reported," stated the Dubai Media Office.

Authorities began evacuating sections of the 90-storey luxury tower, which houses rich expatriates, global professionals and foreign investors, while emergency responders arrived to manage the situation.

The incident unfolded as the UAE Defence Ministry cautioned residents about incoming missiles and drones launched from Iran amid rising tensions across the Middle East. Residents in several areas reported hearing powerful blasts as the country’s air defence systems moved to intercept ballistic missiles, drones and loitering munitions.

The strike also followed remarks from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who apologised to neighbouring states and said Iran would avoid targeting them unless their territory was used to launch attacks on Tehran. However, US President Donald Trump dismissed the statement as a form of surrender, drawing a response from Iranian forces that operations would continue.

"I must apologise on my own behalf and on behalf of Iran to the neighbouring countries that were attacked by Iran. The interim leadership council agreed yesterday that no more attacks will be made on neighbouring countries and no missiles will be fired unless an attack on Iran originates from those countries," Pezeshkian was quoted by Iranian state TV.

‘UAE Has Thick Skin’: Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan

“The UAE is attractive, but don’t be misled by the UAE’s appearance. The UAE has thick skin and bitter flesh – we are no easy prey," UAE president Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had stated while visiting those injured during the attacks.

Several projectiles and drones were intercepted and explosions were heard across the West Asian countries on Saturday.

Saudi Arabia said that it intercepted a missile fired at an airbase housing US personnel. Jordan on the other hand accused Tehran of "targeting vital installations" over the last week.

Explosions were heard in Dubai as the UAE said that its air defences intercepted 15 missiles and 119 drones on Saturday morning. A video showed one missile crashing into Dubai airport.
