Durga Puja 2023: The festivities of Durga Puja with their beautiful pandals are attracting the widespread attention of devotees across the country. Adorned with coins valued at over Rs 11 lakh, a Durga Puja pandal in Assam's Nagaon district has captured significant attention among the locals. The Shani Mandir Durga Puja pandal at Haiborgaon in Nagaon district has been adorned with coins, creating a striking and noteworthy display.

Incorporating coins of various denominations, including Rs 1, Rs 2, Rs 5, and Rs 10, the pandal stands adorned with a currency mosaic. Raju Choudhury, the artist behind this innovative creation, revealed that coins worth Rs 11.26 lakh have been meticulously arranged on plyboard to form the decorative elements.
"We have used coins of various denominations, including Rs 1, Rs 2, Rs 5 and Rs 10 to decorate the pandal. The coins have been stuck on plyboards. We have collected the coins from the State Bank of India and other small businessmen," Raju Choudhury said.

The coins were sourced from the State Bank of India and local businesses. This distinctive display adds a touch of financial artistry to the festive fervour of Durga Puja, capturing the attention of locals and visitors alike in Assam and beyond.

Amid the hustle-bustle of Durga Puja festivities, Guwahati is also buzzed with religious fervour as the artists in the city prepare stunning Pandals. Standing tall at 60 feet, the Lord Ram idol erected in Pandu, Assam, ranks among the city's tallest creations this year, drawing considerable attention from Pandal enthusiasts.
Positioned atop a den-shaped pandal, the idol offers a unique setting for devotees to seek blessings from goddess Durga. The decorations for the Durga idol were sourced from Kolkata, amounting to an expenditure of approximately Rs 1 lakh.
