Durga Puja 2024: The country is getting ready for the Navaratri celebration, which is quickly approaching. Especially, the arrival of Goddess Durga is celebrated with tremendous fervour and excitement throughout the state of West Bengal.
According to Local18, the residents of Alipurduar, in the Beltala region, are making particular preparations for Durga Puja. Here, a lavish celebration for the Puja at the Swamiji Club is being planned, at an expenditure of Rs 12 lakh. Additionally, they want to celebrate its 75th anniversary with a unique celebration.
The goddess Durga idol is being made by an Alipurduar potter, and it is anticipated to be 35 feet tall and 34 feet wide, according to Local18. The organisers of Durga Puja claim that it would feature the biggest idol in all of North Bengal. Roughly a month and a half ago, construction on the idol began.
In a conversation with Local18, Subhojit Dhar, a member of the organising group, provided further information on the event. He stated, “This time we will gift a big puja to the people of the district as well as the people of North Bengal.”
Speaking further, he added, “Besides, there will be a surprise in the illumination. It will be ensured that visitors do not face any problems in watching this puja.”
The goddess Durga is worshipped by followers during the ten-day Durga Puja celebration. West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Tripura, Odisha, and Assam all have major celebrations on this occasion.
