Durgapur Gangrape Case: The father of the MBBS student who was allegedly gangraped in West Bengal's Durgapur expressed concerns about his daughter's safety in West Bengal. He stated that he will take the victim back to Odisha, where she will complete her education, adding that he has "lost faith" in Bengal's law and order. The 23-year-old victim is a second-year student in one of the private colleges and was allegedly raped by a group of men when she went out with a friend on Friday night, leading to a major controversy.
The victim's father claimed that he feels frightened, as the goons can kill his daughter at any moment, adding that she will pursue her education in Odisha. "My daughter is in pain. She can't walk right now. She is bedridden. I am concerned about her safety here. They could kill her here any moment. That's why we want to take her back to Odisha. Trust has been lost. We don't want her to stay in Bengal. She will pursue her education in Odisha," the victim's father was quoted as saying by ANI.

"I strongly urge the West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, to take exemplary action against the accused as per the law.
