Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) Election 2024: Students of the Delhi University will vote on September 27 to elect the Delhi University Student Union (DUSU). Voting will be held in two phases. Students will be able to vote in the first phase from 8.30 AM to 1 PM and in the second phase from 3 PM to 7.30 PM.

First year students will be able to vote by showing their fee receipt or ID card. Second and third year students will be given the right to vote only after showing their ID cards. Counting of votes will begin at 9 AM on September 28 and the results will be declared by evening.

22 candidates are trying their luck for the posts of president, vice president, secretary and joint secretary in the elections. However, the main contest is between Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and National Student Union of India.

The candidates of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and National Students Union of India (NSUI) formed groups and campaigned in all the colleges on the last day. ABVP's presidential candidate Rishabh Chaudhary, vice-president candidate Bhanu Pratap Singh, secretary candidate Mitravinda Karanwal and co-secretary candidate Aman Kapasiya visited the colleges and departments and made the students aware of the organisation's work and agenda.

ABVP Made Promises

ABVP said in a statement said that the organisation is committed to students' welfare. In the student union elections, the organisation is contesting on the issues of centralised form allocation for postgraduate hostels, metro pass for all students, security arrangements for girl students in the campus and installation of sanitary vending machines, full implementation of internal complaint committee and gender sensitisation cell, one course one fee for students of postgraduate courses along with other student welfare issues.

Posters Were Put Up At Many Places And Removed At Other Places

After the High Court's comment, the DU administration intensified the process of removing posters on Wednesday. Posters and banners were removed from many walls. However, they were still visible at many places.
