Eid Al-Fitr Date 2024: The nation will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Thursday, April 11 except Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. The festival signifies the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of the mosque contacted numerous locations and was informed that the moon was not visible, according to Imam Mufti Mukarram Ahmad of Delhi's Fatehpuri Masjid, who spoke with PTI.

Thus, the 30th fast of Ramadan will be observed on Wednesday, and India will celebrate Eid on Thursday, he said.

However, Kerala, Jammu-Kashmir, and Ladakh will celebrate Eid on Wednesday.

Clerics in Kerala, including Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal, Jifri Muthukkoya Thangal, and Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar, confirmed the Shawwal moon sighting.

The moon was seen, according to Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam of Srinagar, and tomorrow is Eid in Jammu and Kashmir.

There has been no report of a Shawwal moon sighting, according to Syed Ahmed Bukhari, the former imam of Shahi Jama Masjid in Delhi.

“Contacts were made in different parts of India – Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal and Bihar, but the moon was not sighted anywhere,” he said.

“Eid will be celebrated on Thursday, April 11,” Bukhari said.

The Markazi Chand Committee of Lucknow has also announced that since the moon has not been seen this evening, Eid will be observed on April 11.
