Eid Al-Fitr 2024 Date: Eid-ul-Fitr, the festival which marks the end of the holy and revered month of Ramadan, is celebrated by Muslims across the globe with great fervour and joy. Eid, also known as Meethi Eid and Eid Al-Fitra or Ramzan Eid, falls on the first day of Shawwal, the 10th month of the Lunar Hijri calendar. The sighting of the crescent moon plays a crucial role in determining the exact date of Eid-ul-Fitr every year. The Crescent Moon sighting can vary across different regions and countries. This year Eid will be celebrated on April 11.
Saudi Arabia on Monday, officially declared that Eid Al-Fitr 2024 will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10, in the Kingdom after religious committees confirmed the absence of a moon sighting on April 9, which means that fasting will continue til April 9 (today).
Eid 2024 Date In India: When Is Eid 2024 In India?
Eid Al-Fitr 2024 is celebrated on April 11 in India, as confirmed by Hilal Committee. Traditionally, Eid Al-Fitr is celebrated in India a day after it is celebrated in Saudi Arabia. As Saudi Arabia will be celebrating Eid 2024 on Wednesday (April 10), it is expected that the festival will be celebrated on Thursday (April 11) in India. However, the date may vary based on the sighting of the crescent moon in the country.

Eid Al-Fitr 2024 Significance
Eid Al-Fitr holds much importance for Muslims. It signifies the completion of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic Lunar Calendar, during which Muslims devote themselves to worship and reflection. Eid Al-Fitr is considered a gift by the almighty for those who observe month-long fasts and devote their time to worship Allah (God). On Eid Al-Fitr, Muslims across the globe perform special prayers in the morning and wear new clothes to mark the new beginnings in their life. At home, Muslims prepare different types of delicacies and also do charity, which is known as Fitra.
