'He Knows How Dangerous...': Shinde's Sharp Dig After Uddhav Claims 'High-Level Discussion' With Fadnavis On Flight

Mumbai: Maharashtra politics was recently thrown into a stir when two bitter rivals, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, were seen travelling on the same flight from Mumbai to Nagpur on Friday.

When asked about the two leaders sharing the flight, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde took a swipe at Thackeray, stating that Chief Minister Fadnavis is a clever person who knows very well how dangerous a scheming friend could be.

"Fadnavis is a very clever person. He knows very well how dangerous a scheming friend could be," news agency PTI quoted Shinde as saying.

BJP And Shiv Sena Took Same Flight In 2019, But Thackeray Switched Routes

Responding to questions about Fadnavis and Thackeray taking the same flight, Shinde recalled the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the then-undivided Shiv Sena contested as allies but later parted ways after Thackeray formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government by joining hands with the Congress and the NCP.

"The BJP and undivided Shiv Sena had taken the same flight in 2019, but then he took a different flight and aligned with the Congress," he said.

Thackeray Hints At 'High-Level Discussion'

When asked about sharing the flight with Fadnavis, the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief fueled political chatter, stating that the two had a "very high-level discussion" and hinting that "the result will be known in the coming days".

However, the BJP quickly dismissed any political significance to the meeting, stating that leaders across party lines often share cordial personal relations despite their political differences.
