In a chilling incident, a YSRCP activist was run over by the vehicles in the convoy of party chief and former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during his visit to Sattenapalli in Palnadu district. The deceased has been identified as Cheeli Singaiah (65). After he was crushed, the convoy continued to move forward, unaware of the untoward incident.
According to a report by The Times of India, Guntur SP Satish Kumar initially said that the man was run over by a vehicle in the convoy but new developments confirmed that he was mowed down by Jagan's vehicle.
Two days ago, Jagan had visited Rentapalla village in the Sattenapalli to meet the family of party activist Korlakunta Nagamalleswara Rao, who died by suicide nearly a year ago allegedly due to police and TDP leader harassement .

During his visit, a massive crowd followed his convoy from Tadepalli to Rentapalla village. He reportedly died in the incident after he tried to approach Reddy's vehicle to shower it with flowers.
The incident has drawn sharp criticism from the ruling TDP. Reacting to the tragic incident, YSRCP leader and former Minister Ambati Rambabu said on Sunday targeted ruling TDP for starting a media trial. He said, "Just after the incident, TDP and its friends started a media trial aimed at spreading lies against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and went in circles to tell that it was his car that had hit the person, Singamayya, resulting in his death. The SP himself confirmed that it was not Jagan’s vehicle but the one that accompanied the convoy that caused the mishap."
The Police have filed cases against Rambabu and other YSRCP leaders for allegedly violating orders in connection with Reddy's visit to Palnadu district. The incident comes at the heels of intensified feud between TDP and YSRCP. On June 19, a YSRCP worker was arrested for displaying provocative placards seeking to carry out a massacre of TDP leaders if YSRCP returns to power in 2029.
Based on TDP leaders' complaint, a case was registered against him at Nekarikally Police Station in Palnadu district. Ravi Teja was arrested and sent to judicial custody.
