Soon after Congress failed to take over power in three states including Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, it was criticised by its allies. Attacking the grand old party, JD(U) spokesperson KC Tyagi said that the Congress never invited or consulted any of its allies in the INDIA bloc even though socialist parties have historically had a presence in these states.
"It is very necessary now for everyone to strengthen the INDIA bloc. If the alliance meeting was called a couple of months earlier, it would have been good," he said.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Also took a swipe at Congress and said judging the results of the INDIA bloc, if the situation continues to be like this in the future, the opposition alliance will not be able to win.
"Judging the results of INDIA alliance in the state elections, if the situation is like this in the future, we cannot win," Omar Abdullah said, speaking to reporters on Sunday. He also said that the Congress' claims in the state elections proved otherwise since the party was able to win only in Telangana.
"BJP should be congratulated because we were not expecting this result. We were hearing from our allies that in Chhattisgarh, the Congress would come to power easily, they would win in Madhya Pradesh as well, they were confident in Telangana and they were even saying that in the end they will come out victorious in Rajasthan as well. When the results came out, only their claim in Telangana stood true. Neither could they save Chhattisgarh, nor win back Madhya Pradesh nor could they win in Rajasthan again," he said.
RJD national spokesman Manoj Jha asserted that there was a need for Congress to realise that “collectivism” was essential to take on the BJP’s "self-centred" politics.
"Leaders like our national president Lalu Prasad and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have acknowledged that among all partners in the INDIA coalition, the Congress has the largest footprint. But, now, the ball is in the Congress’ court. It ought to realise that Narendra Modi’s conceit cannot be fought with conceit," Jha said.

Indicating that the Samajwadi Party (SP) will fight the 2024 Lok Sabha elections along with the Congress under the banner of Opposition group 'INDIA', the party spokesperson Manoj Singh Yadav blamed Congress Kamal Nath’s "indecent statement" against its chief Akhilesh Yadav for the setback in Madhya Pradesh.
"He called the SP chief, who has been a four-time MP and the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh as 'Akhilesh-Vakhilesh’ due to which not only Madhya Pradesh, but the people of Bahujan class and backward classes were hurt, and its adverse effect was reflected in the resultsormer Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath gave an indecent statement against the SP chief," he said.
