After registering a mammoth victory in the three Hindi heartland states, which went to the polls in November, BJP’s procrastination in announcing the CM candidates has left people cracking the saffron party’s strategy in delaying the process. Moreover, the fact that the party has a plethora of leaders, who are senior as well as party stalwarts, makes the question more alive as to why the saffron party takes the process so seriously.

The saffron party wrested power from Congress in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh while heroically combating anti-incumbency in Madhya Pradesh.

A fervid deliberation has been taking place with party high command mulling new faces for all three states, a report by news agency ANI suggests. A high-level meeting was held at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office on Tuesday to discuss the probable for the big post.

Explaining the exercise in a nutshell, this is how BJP works and prepares a future road map for itself.

BJP’s strategy:

The saffron party believes in ensuring that no figure in the party could be taller than the party itself and all the people need to adhere to this belief. When the cult of an individual surpasses the party’s bandwidth and he starts thinking he has become bigger than the party, BJP knows how to cut them to size.

Madhya Pradesh registered an incredible victory under Shivraj Chouhan’s rule but the people started believing it was his cult rather than the party’s charisma. This was the occasion when BJP top brass stepped in to ensure the party was supreme and no one should be above it. Now, speculations are rife that a new face could be introduced in Madhya Pradesh as Shivraj was becoming too big for the party to bear. Similarly in Rajasthan, people believed Vasundhara Raje was inevitable and hence couldn’t be overlooked while selecting the CM face. Now, as per reports, the BJP is thinking of introducing new faces in Rajasthan too.

The exercise becomes further important as this paves the way for the new leadership in the party. When new faces are introduced with time, a situation of leadership void could be eluded in the party. The party in such cases doesn't need to rely on the old faces.
