Fali S Nariman Death News: Eminent jurist and senior advocate of Supreme Court Fali S Nariman passed away at the age of 95, his staff confirmed on Wednesday. He was suffering from multiple ailments, including cardiac issues.
Taking to social media X, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi said it was the "end of an era". He said Eminent jurist Nariman will forever remain in the hearts and minds of those in law and public life.
"End of an era—#falinariman passes away, a living legend who will forever be in the hearts & minds of those in law & public life. Above all his diverse achievements, he stuck to his principles unwaveringly & called a spade a spade, a quality shared by his brilliant son #Rohinton," he wrote in a post on X.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolence on the demise of advocate Nariman and said he devoted his life to making justice accessible to common citizens. "Fali Nariman Ji was among the most outstanding legal minds and intellectuals. He devoted his life to making justice accessible to common citizens. I am pained by his passing away. My thoughts are with his family and admirers. May his soul rest in peace," PM Modi writes on X.
About Fali S Nariman
Nariman, who was born on January 10, 1929, served as the additional solicitor general between 1972 and 1975. He resigned from the post during an emergency. Nariman received the Padma Bhushan in January 1991 and 2007, he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan. His son, Rohinton Nariman, served as a Supreme Court judge.
In his long and illustrious legal career, Nariman argued in several landmark cases, including the famous case of the National Judicial Appointments Commission, which was struck down by the Supreme Court.
