Faridabad-Jewar Greenfield Expressway: Travel between Faridabad and Noida International Airport, also known as Jewar Airport, is set to become faster and smoother with the construction of a 31-kilometre-long six-lane Greenfield Expressway. The six-lane corridor is being designed to establish a direct link between Smart City Faridabad and the upcoming international airport.

Once completed, the expressway will slash the travel time between Faridabad and Jewar Airport to just 15-20 minutes, offering significant relief from existing traffic bottlenecks, India TV reported.

All You Need To Know About Faridabad-Jewar Greenfield Expressway

- The six-lane greenfield expressway will begin at the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Link Road (Sector 65) in Faridabad and terminate at Dayanatpur village near the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh.

- The expressway spans a total of 31 kilometres in length. Of the total 31-kilometre stretch, nearly 22-24 km lies in Haryana while the remaining 7-9 km falls in Uttar Pradesh.

- The expressway will pass through 18 villages, including 12 in Haryana and six in Uttar Pradesh.

- In Haryana, the expressway will pass through Shahpur, Sotai, Chandawali, Bahbalpur, Phaphunda, Panhera Khurd, Narhawali, Mehmadpur, Hirapur, Mohana, Kalan, and Baghpur. In Uttar Pradesh, it will pass through Jhuppa, Falaida Bangar, Amarpur, Karauli Bangar, Vallabhnagar, and end at Dayanatpur, the report added.

- The expressway is being built as a six-lane corridor, with provisions for future expansion to eight lanes to accommodate rising traffic demand.

- The expressway will provide a direct link between Faridabad's industrial area and the Noida International Airport.

Construction, Cost And Current Status Of The Project

Construction of the 31-km six-lane Greenfield Expressway has gained pace, with nearly 1,200 pillars already erected and girder installation currently underway across the Yamuna River stretch.

Out of the estimated 3,000 piles required for the expressway, around 1,200 have already been completed. Girder casting for the superstructure has also begun. The project is being developed at a cost of Rs 2,414 crore. NHAI is expected to complete the entire project by April 2027.
