- High-speed rail to connect Delhi with Noida Airport.
- Namo Bharat corridor links Ghaziabad to Jewar Airport.
- Pod taxi system planned between airport and Film City.
Jagran Correspondent, Jewar: Noida International Airport at Jewar is set to receive a major connectivity boost, with a multi-modal transport network planned to link it with Delhi-NCR, with several rail, road and regional connectivity projects planned to provide seamless access to the airport.
The proposed connectivity network includes the Delhi-Varanasi High-Speed Rail Corridor, the Ghaziabad-Jewar Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Corridor and a pod taxi system linking the airport with the upcoming Film City. Together, these projects are expected to provide passengers with faster alternatives to road travel as passenger traffic at the airport increases.
The Delhi-Varanasi High-Speed Rail Corridor is expected to provide the fastest connection between Delhi and Noida International Airport, reducing the travel time to around 21 minutes. The corridor will also improve access to the airport for passengers travelling from major parts of Delhi-NCR, including Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram and Faridabad.
Another key project is the 72.44-km Ghaziabad-Jewar Namo Bharat Rapid Rail Corridor, which is proposed to connect Ghaziabad and the Greater Noida region with Jewar Airport. Approval from the Centre for the project is awaited.
The airport will also be connected through road-based transport, including buses, taxis and private vehicles. Metro and other regional transport options are expected to further strengthen last-mile and inter-city connectivity.
Underground transport hub planned at Noida airport
To bring these different modes together, an underground Ground Transportation Center (GTC) is planned between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The facility has been included in the airport’s master plan and is expected to function as a central interchange for passengers arriving by road, rail and other modes of transport.
The GTC is planned to accommodate buses, taxis and private vehicles, while also providing access to the proposed high-speed rail and Namo Bharat systems.
Work on the GTC could begin before construction of Terminal 2, as the facility will be important for managing passenger movement as the airport expands.

Construction of Noida International Airport Terminal 2 is expected to begin once Terminal 1 reaches 80 per cent of its planned capacity. With passenger numbers expected to rise substantially over time, the airport will require not only additional terminals and runways but also a robust ground transportation system.
The proposed multi-modal network is intended to meet this requirement by connecting the airport with major residential, commercial and industrial centres across the region.
Pod taxi to connect Film City
A proposed pod taxi system is also planned between Noida International Airport and the upcoming Film City in the Yamuna Authority region. The project is expected to provide a fast and convenient option for short-distance travel between the two major developments.
The combination of high-speed rail, Namo Bharat, road transport and the proposed pod taxi system is expected to make the airport more accessible while reducing dependence on conventional road-based travel.
The expansion of transport infrastructure around the airport is also expected to generate economic opportunities in the region. Rising passenger traffic could boost demand for hotels, restaurants, taxis, parking facilities, retail outlets and other services.
