Tikait-led Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) and BKU LokShakti are set to hit the roads today in Noida to support the ongoing farmers’ protest. BKU (Tikait) will today head towards Delhi from Noida with tractors along the Yamuna Expressway.

“We plan to line up tractors from Greater Noida to the Noida side and march along the Yamuna Expressway, moving towards the Chilla border via the Noida Expressway,” TOI quoted BKU Tikait president (West UP) Pawan Khatana as saying.

Earlier, talking about the comprehensive plan of the BKU, Rakesh Tikait said

"On February 26, we will take out tractors on the highway going to Delhi. This program will be for one day and then meetings will be held nationwide. On March 14, a one-day programme will be at Delhi's Ramleela Maidan. People will go to the program without tractors. The government keeps saying that they are not stopping us, so let's see whether they will stop us," Tikait said while talking to ANI.

The traffic on the Noida-Greater Noida expressway is expected to witness disruptions owing to the farmers’ proposed Delhi march.

DCP (traffic) Anil Kumar Yadav told TOI that he is yet to receive any information on the proposed protest by farmers. “We will make arrangements once they share the information of their protest,” he said.

Protesting farmers have been staying put at Shambhu and Khanauri points on Punjab's border with Haryana to press the Centre for various demands. Their Delhi Chalo march was suspended for two days after a youth, Shubhkaran, was allegedly killed during a clash between farmers and the police at the Haryana-Punjab Khanauri Border on Thursday.
