Punjab farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s health has deteriorated significantly after he fainted on the twenty-fourth day of his fast unto death. Doctors attending to the 70-year-old leader at the Khanauri border have described his condition as critical, stating, "His life is hanging by a thread." The alarming situation has sparked growing concern among his supporters.
Earlier today, the Supreme Court criticised the Punjab government for failing to conduct regular medical tests on Jagjit Singh Dallewal, urging it to convince the leader to undergo treatment for a week before resuming his protest. Dallewal is currently receiving medical care at the protest site.
Senior doctors from Rajindra Medical College and Patiala Police officials visited the Khanauri border, where Jagjit Singh Dallewal is protesting. A team from the 5 Rivers Heart Association has been regularly monitoring his condition, and a mini hospital has been set up at the site to provide medical assistance.

Doctors at the Khanauri border have described 70-year-old farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal's condition as critical, warning that his life is in danger. He is at risk of cardiac arrest and multi-organ failure. Dallewal, a cancer patient, has been on a fast-unto-death to press the Centre for a legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) on crops.
Doctors have stated that Jagjit Singh Dallewal has not consumed any food for the past 24 days, leading to his critical condition. He is at risk of cardiac arrest and multi-organ failure, with doctors closely monitoring his health daily.

"Because of that, he is critical and he is at the risk of cardiac arrest and multi-organ failure. We are monitoring him every day," said Dr Abhiraj,
