For some time, reports had been surfacing that the FASTag service (FASTag KYV) of users who failed to follow the guidelines set by the Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) would be restricted. However, the NHAI has dismissed these rumors. Additionally, there is news of relief for FASTag users.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has simplified the KYV (Know Your Vehicles) process for FASTag users. The KYV update process will now be extremely simple, allowing people to easily update their FASTag KYV by following the steps.

What Is KYV?

KYV stands for 'Know Your Vehicle'. It is similar to KYC (Know Your Customer) but is issued specifically for FASTag users. Under KYV, people must submit important documents related to their vehicle. These documents include the vehicle's Registration Certificate (RC), a photo of the vehicle, and other items. The FASTag is issued based on this information.

Why Is It Necessary To Update KYV?

It is necessary to update KYV from time to time to prevent the misuse of FASTag. The NHAI has advised all vehicle owners to update their KYV as soon as possible. If the KYV is not updated, the FASTag can not only be canceled but also blocked. In such a scenario, you may face long waits at the toll plaza, and a fine may also be imposed if the FASTag is blocked.

- Now, select the KYV option, which is typically in 'Account Settings' or 'Profile'.

- Fill in all vehicle-related information, such as vehicle number, license plate number, and engine number.

- After this, upload photos of the required documents as requested, and then click the submit button.
