The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lambasted Congress and party leader Rahul Gandhi after they failed to an official complaint against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. ECI on Tuesday released the final voter list in the poll-bound state. The poll body has uploaded the final voters list to the website and has stated that the total number of voters in the final list is 7.42 crore.
BJP’s national spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill called out Gandhi for his “Spit & Run" politics.
“SIR exercise completed in Bihar with deletion of 68.6 Lac names due to death, migration & duplication !
No official complaint by Congress in prescribed format during the exercise
No affidavit on oath by Rahul Gandhi regarding his “allegations”
Spit & Run, Spread Propaganda has become Rahul Gandhi’s SOP, Jaiveer Shergill posted on X.
Rahul Gandhi took swipes at the Election Commission on multiple occasions in the past few months, even calling it "chunaav ka chawkidaar” over "vote chori" allegations. The EC has however termed his claims as "baseless and incorrect".
Rahul Gandhi has alleged that a centralised method is being used by "some people" to delete voters from Congress strongholds and the CEC is "protecting those vote chors (thieves)".
On Tuesday, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar stated that the physical copies of the voter list will be distributed to all the District Election Officers/District Magistrates.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission is likely to announce the schedule for the upcoming elections next week as the tenure of the Assembly in Bihar is nearing its end. The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), along with other Election Commissioners, is set to visit Patna on October 4 and 5 to take stock of preparations, after which the announcement is most likely to be made. The tenure of the current assembly is ending on November 22 and the poll body is making efforts to hold the elections before that so that the new government can be formed before it.
