Flight Cancellations: Around 200 flights were delayed as thick fog continued to disrupt air and rail travel across northern India. According to reports, poor visibility has become a regular issue in recent days, causing inconvenience for passengers and affecting travel across the region.

Officials confirmed that two commercial flights were cancelled at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya. The cancellations included Air India Express flights IX1284/IX1274 on the Delhi–Ayodhya–Delhi route, and SpiceJet flights SG615/SG614 operating on the Mumbai–Ayodhya–Ahmedabad sector.

At Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi, over 200 flights were delayed due to foggy conditions. While there were no major cancellations, passengers had to endure longer waiting times as flight schedules were adjusted to accommodate the poor visibility.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) issued a warning on Sunday, stating that the fog affecting parts of northern India could impact flight operations at some airports.

“Passengers are advised to check flight updates with their airlines through official channels and allow extra time for airport travel and formalities,” the advisory said. AAI also confirmed that assistance teams had been deployed at affected airports to support passengers on the ground.

In addition to the fog, Delhi woke up to a heavy layer of toxic smog on Sunday morning. The Air Quality Index reached 390 around 7 am, which is classified as ‘very poor’ according to the Central Pollution Control Board. Many areas reported ‘severe’ pollution levels, with the thick haze causing significant discomfort across the city.
