G20 Summit Restrictions In Delhi: The preparations are in full swing for the G20 Summit in Delhi with the Police imposing several curbs on traffic movement and other activities to avoid any untoward incident during the meeting of the world leaders. The G20 Summit, the first-ever under India's presidency, will be hosted at the newly built Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on September 9 and 10. However, the restrictions imposed by the Delhi Police will be in place from September 7 (today) till September 10.

Though, the Delhi Police has clarified that no restrictions will be imposed in the entire city, curbs on traffic movement will be imposed in the New Delhi district and the areas under the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC). The movement of commercial vehicles, city buses, taxis and autos will be restricted in some areas of the national capital.

G20 Restrictions in Delhi:

Which areas have been designated under controlled zones 1 and 2 and regulated zones?

- The entire New Delhi district will be under Controlled Zone 1 from 5 pm on September 8 to 23:59 pm on September 9.
- The entire area inside the Ring Road (Mahatma Gandhi Marg) will be under the Regulated Zone from 5 pm on September 8 to 23:59 pm on September 10.

Following roads will be under Controlled Zone 2:

Nearly 16 roads and junctions will be treated as "Controlled Zone II" from 12 midnight on September 10 till 2 pm on Sunday. The Controlled Zone II roads and junctions include W-Point, A-Point, DDU Marg, Vikas Marg (till Noida Link Road-Pusta Road), Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Delhi Gate etc.

What is not allowed?

- No auto-rickshaws or taxis will be allowed to operate or enter the New Delhi district from September 9 to September 10 at midnight.

- No vehicular movement will be allowed on NH-48 towards Dhaula Kuan.

- No person coming from outside will be allowed entry into the New Delhi district. They will need special passes to enter the New Delhi district.

- Goods vehicles, commercial vehicles, interstate buses and local city buses will not be allowed to operate on Mathura Road (beyond Ashram Chowk), Bhairon Road, Purana Quila Road and inside Pragati Maidan Tunnel from midnight on September 7 until 11:59 PM on September 10.

- City buses will not be available in the New Delhi area but buses will operate on Ring Road and road network beyond Ring Road towards the borders of Delhi.

- All offices, theatres, restaurants and malls will be closed in the New Delhi district from September 8 to September 10.

- Movement in markets inside the controlled New Delhi area will be regulated by the Delhi Police.

- Movement of cars, bicycles and other vehicles will not be allowed in the controlled zone

- Cloud kitchens, food delivery services and other delivery services won't be allowed in the New Delhi area on September 9 and 10.

- All schools and colleges will remain closed across Delhi.

- - All banks and financial institutions will remain closed during the G20 Summit.

What is allowed?

- Taxis carrying bonafide residents and tourists having valid bookings in hotels located inside New Delhi district will be allowed to enter and move within the district.

- Residents of the New Delhi district area will be allowed entry and exit without any pass.

- All medical shops, grocery shops, milk booths, vegetable/fruit shops and ATMs will remain open across Delhi including the New Delhi district.

- Buses will operate on Ring Road and road network beyond Ring Road towards the borders of Delhi.

- Taxis and auto rickshaw services will operate as usual in areas outside the Controlled and Regulated zones.

- Vehicles associated with the Armed Forces, Police, Disaster Management teams, Ambulances, or involved in emergency services like road, and electric supply maintenance will have unrestricted movement throughout Delhi.
