Several prominent world leaders are set to visit Delhi as the Group of 20 nations convenes on September 9 and 10 this year. The key meeting of the heads of the nations is being hosted by India under its G20 presidency. US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will be among the top leaders attending the G20 Summit.

India is hosting the G20 summit for the first time since the grouping began summit-level meets following the global financial crisis of 2008. Over 25 world leaders are expected to take part in the summit. Out of the 20 member nations, 17 will be represented at the leaders' level. Meanwhile, Russia and Mexico will be represented by their ministers.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who faces an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) over war crimes in Ukraine, will keep away from the summit. In a telephonic conversation Putin told Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday that Russia would be represented by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador traditionally sends his ministers to represent Mexico, with the 2020 Riyadh Virtual G20 summit being an exception. This year, Mexico will be represented by Minister of Economy Raquel Buenrostro Sanchez.
