Gangster Jassa Happowal, Wanted In Six Murder Cases, Injured In Encounter With Punjab Police

Gangster Taranjit Singh alias Jassa Haibowalia was on Wednesday injured in an encounter with Punjab Police. He was trying to flee the police custody when a bullet afflicted him. An AGTF official was also injured in preventing his escape.

“Gangster Jassa Happowal was injured on both legs in police action while attempting to flee from police custody in a major action by #AGTF, Punjab. An AGTF official was also injured in preventing his escape. They have been shifted to the nearest hospital,” DGP Punjab Police wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Notably, Happowal was arrested by the Punjab Police on November 30. He was wanted in six murder cases. As per The Tribune, he was an operative of foreign-based gangster Rajesh Kumar, alias Sonu Khatri, and Jaspreet Singh, alias Jassa Mohanwalia.
