Delhi Metro News: In a shocking incident, a girl jumped onto the metro track at Dwarka Sector-14 Metro Station in Delhi on Friday. Police said the student was depressed due to her board examinations. She was injured in the incident. Metro personnel took her to the Emergency Ward of Indira Gandhi Hospital, Dwarka.
Metro staff and commuters at the station immediately alerted authorities after noticing the girl on the tracks, following which she was quickly pulled out and provided medical assistance, said police.
Girl Was Under Examinations Pressure: Police
The injured girl told police that she was under depression due to her board examinations and decided to take an extreme move. In her statement to the police, the girl stated she had been under severe stress due to her ongoing board examinations and jumped onto the tracks because of the pressure. Police said she has been receiving the treatment as both her knees were injured after she jumped onto the tracks.

According to the police, a PCR call regarding the incident was received around 12:58 pm. A police team rushed to the station and found that the girl had already been rescued.
Police said the girl was conscious when she was admitted to the hospital and had sustained injuries on both her knees. The police have recorded the girl's statement and informed her family members. Further inquiry into the incident is underway, they added.
