Updates:

- Seth was produced before Goa Children's Court after her initial remand of six days expired on Monday.

- As per news agency PTI, Seth allegedly smothered her son to death in a service apartment in Goa’s Candolim. She allegedly tried to flee with the child’s corpse in a taxi but was apprehended in Karnataka’s Chitradurga.

-  She was remanded in police custody for six days by Mapusa court.

- As per police, cited by PTI, Seth was not cooperating during the investigation. "We had asked for an extension of her custody as we wanted more time to interrogate her. We have to also conduct other formalities like taking her DNA sample," he said.

- The statement of the accused's husband, Venkat Raman, was recorded, officials said.

- The accused, Suchana Seth, was at loggerheads with her husband and a bitter divorce battle was going on between the duo. As per news outlet NDTV, the woman was seeking Rs 2.5 lakh per month in alimony, claiming that her husband has an annual income of over Rs 1 crore.

- As per a senior police official, cited by news agency PTI, two bottles of cough syrup were found from the apartment, where the crime was committed. Now, police have been probing whether the woman gave a high dose of cough syrup to the child to make him unconscious before killing him.

- As per the police sources, cited by Jagran Hindi, the woman claimed she was not behind the murder of her son and the latter was already dead when she woke up from her sleep. The police have however debunked the theory.

- She was taken back to the apartment, where the alleged crime was committed.

- Police recovered a crumpled tissue paper allegedly written by the victim. A six-line note was written on it, TOI reported. The recovered note scribbled hastily and purportedly with an eyeliner, read, “Court and my husband pressuring me to give custody of my son. I cannot take it anymore…My ex-husband is violent…he used to teach bad manners to son.” It further read, “I am extremely guilty and frustrated. I love my son, but I did not want to see him meeting his father.”
