A passenger, identified as Sahil Kataria, who attacked the pilot on the Delhi-Goa IndiGo flight while he was making an announcement regarding a delay in takeoff at Delhi Airport, apologised with his folded hands. This comes after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
In another video, Katariya can be seen saying ‘Sorry sir’ to the person who was recording his video while taken away by the authorities on the tarmac. In response, the person filming the video said, ‘No sorry’.
The pilot later filed a complaint against the passenger following which police registered a case against him. He is currently under police custody. The incident took place on the IndiGo flight (6E-2175) from Delhi to Goa which was delayed due to fog by several hours.

“We received a complaint and are taking appropriate legal action,” DCP, Indira Gandhi International Airport was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
According to the complaint filed by the airlines, Kataria misbehaved and hit the co-pilot and created a nuisance inside the aircraft. “Fly if you want to, otherwise open the gate,” he was heard saying in the video that went viral earlier.
Following the incident, IndiGo also formed an internal committee to address the incident and referred the matter to the committee. “Actions, including the potential inclusion of passengers on the 'no-fly list' are under consideration as unruly behaviour category,” an IndiGo official told news agency ANI.
The incident drew massive criticism from netizens. Several users condemned the incident and criticised the passenger for creating a nuisance on the aircraft. "A disturbing trend. Fog and weather conditions are not under the control of any Airlines. Passengers need to understand that it's for their safety that precaution is maintained," a user wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
This person should be booked for assault as well as put on a No Fly List. While @IndiGo6E is in the news for all the wrong reasons and must be taken to task for its shortcomings, but this is totally unacceptable passenger behaviour," another wrote.
