Goa Nightclub Fire: The Goa Police on Tuesday detained Ajay Gupta, an alleged partner of the Luthra brothers, who owned the nightclub where a massive fire broke out on Saturday that claimed 25 lives and injured many. Earlier, a Lookout Circular (LOC) was issued against Gupta and another individual, Surinder Kumar Khosla.
While addressing a press conference, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Varsha Sharma said that a Look Out Circular (LOC) had been issued against both Ajay Gupta and Surinder Kumar Khosla, adding that Khosla is a British citizen.

Both Ajay Gupta and Surinder Kumar Khosla came under police scrutiny shortly after the owners of the 'Birch by Romeo Lane' nightclub, Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, fled to Thailand, news agency PTI reported. A massive fire erupted at the nightclub on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, which claimed the lives of 25 people.
“We have detained Ajay Gupta, one of the owners of the nightclub. This is the sixth person to be held in connection with the case," PTI reported. In the ongoing investigation into the nightclub fire, the police have so far arrested five individuals: Rajiv Modak (Chief General Manager), Vivek Singh (General Manager), Rajiv Singhania (Bar Manager), Riyanshu Thakur (Gate Manager), and Bharat Kohli.
Goa Nightclub Owners Fled Hours After Fire
Nightclub owners Saurabh Luthra and his brother Gaurav, a prominent Delhi businessman, reportedly fled the country shortly after the tragic fire erupted at their 'Birch by Romeo Lane' nightclub in Arpora, Goa.
Police received the initial fire alert at 12:04 AM on Sunday, and by 5:30 AM, the Luthra brothers had already boarded IndiGo flight 6E 1073 from New Delhi to Phuket, Thailand. According to trackers, the Luthra brothers landed in Phuket after 11 AM on the same day.
Following an attempted visit to the Luthras' Delhi residence on Monday, the Goa Police released a statement confirming that the owners had fled.
