The Sunburn Festival, a well-known electronic dance music gathering in Goa, was severely disrupted by the local government.

Following the orders of the High Court, Goa Police implemented stringent regulations aimed at curbing noise pollution. Around 10 p.m., a police team responded to complaints about music volumes surpassing permissible decibel levels during the Vagator Beach Festival. The festival, which was only allowed to play music until 10 PM, was told to turn down the volume right away.

This measure is a part of a larger campaign that was started in April with the intention of discouraging drug use in the state by putting an end to parties and raves after midnight by enforcing a 10 pm deadline.

According to DySP Jivba Dalvi, there was a moment when the audio level exceeded what was allowed. After the Bombay High Court in Goa ordered the authorities to monitor noise levels at all events in the state, specially formed teams were stationed at the festival site.

Despite these obstacles, Percept Intellectual Property's festival proceeded to maintain legal and environmental compliance while showcasing an elite roster of performers that included Alesso, Timmy Trumpet, and Charlotte de Witte.
