Delhi GRAP 4: The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has implemented restrictive measures under Stage Four of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR following a significant increase in air pollution levels. The average Air Quality Index (AQI) for the national capital reached 399 by 9 PM on Monday, breaching the 400 mark and categorising the air quality as severe.

In response to the alarming rise in AQI, attributed to unfavourable meteorological conditions and calm winds, the CAQM Sub-Committee on GRAP convened an emergency meeting. The committee invoked Stage Four of the GRAP, which includes additional measures beyond the existing restrictions under Stages I, II and III.

Delhi NCR Hybrid Classes Implemented

As part of the Stage Four restrictions, schools in Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Noida will shift to hybrid learning for students in grades 6 to 9 and 11. This decision follows earlier instructions for schools to adopt hybrid modes for classes up to grade 5 under Stage Three of the GRAP due to the prevailing poor air quality.
