Delhi Election 2025: Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, announced on Wednesday that the Trinamool Congress would back his party in the coming Delhi Assembly elections. While the Congress has not secured support from any INDIA bloc ally for the upcoming polls, its rival AAP is gaining backing from major players like Trinamool and the Samajwadi Party.
Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal thanked Mamata Banerjee on social media site X for her assistance.
"TMC has announced support to AAP in Delhi elections. I am personally grateful to Mamata Didi. Thank you Didi. You have always supported and blessed us in our good and bad times," Kejriwal wrote.

Kejriwal had previously thanked Akhilesh Yadav for his support for AAP. “Thank you very much, Akhilesh ji. You always stand with us. I, along with the people of Delhi, am grateful for this,” Kejriwal posted on X.
Meanwhile, Trinamool's Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien responded to Mr Kejriwal's post, saying, "We have your back @AamAadmiParty."

Following Ashok Gehlot's assertion that AAP leaders are delusional about the party's chances of winning the polls next month, Mr Kejriwal aimed at the Congress. In response to the veteran's statement, the former Delhi CM stated that it showed that the Congress and the BJP were contesting the election "together".
It is noteworthy that the AAP, which formed an alliance with the Congress for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, has chosen to run alone in the upcoming Assembly elections.
The AAP has stated that it will discuss with other INDIA bloc parties to remove the Congress from the alliance after it filed a complaint against Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of "misleading and deceiving" the people with promises of "non-existent" social initiatives.
To note, top Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Mallikarjun Kharge were not present on the Delhi Assembly election campaign trail. Rather, the Congress campaign has made extensive use of MPs imported from other states and its second-rung leaders.
