Greater Noida West To Jewar Airport Route: A bus lane from Kisan Chowk in Greater Noida West to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Sirsa is under construction to smoothen the travel experience of the passenger commuting to the Noida International Airport.
The upcoming project connecting the Greater Noida Development Authority office in Knowledge Park 4 to Sirsa will provide a dedicated bus lane reserved for airport-bound buses. Commuters going to the Jewar Airport will enjoy a seamless ride on the traffic-free, 130-metre-wide road.
Work for road connectivity is in full force as Noida International Airport is anticipated to start operations this April in Jewar. Keeping the possibility of increased passenger traffic on the roads due to the airport, a dedicated bus project has been planed
Plan To Connect Bus Way With Yamuna Expressway
Passengers would be able to travel to Sirsa, covering key Noida landmarks like Ek Murti, Tilpata, and the Noida Development Authority Office, via the new busway. The busway will connect to Eastern Peripheral near Yamuna Expressway with an interchange currently under construction to link the Eastern Peripheral with the Yamuna Expressway.
Passengers from Greater Noida West will soon be able to travel directly to the airport via a dedicated 25 km busway. The new route is expected to be completed within a year, enabling buses to bypass the 130-meter congested wide road. This marks the first dedicated bus route in Gautam Buddha Nagar.
According to Project Department Manager Prabhat Shankar, the busway will feature designated bus stands where passengers can board and alight. Additional facilities, including digital displays showing bus locations, will be developed around the bus stands, allowing passengers to track their buses online
Connectivity To Cargo Terminal Underway
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has started working on road connectivity with the cargo terminal of Noida International Airport as soon as the road budget was approved by the state government.
A team from the authority arrived at Karauli Bangar village with heavy machinery, beginning the process of leveling the land for a new road. The four-hour operation involved clearing crops that were obstructing the proposed route on Friday.
The new road, spanning 8 kilometers in length and 30 meters in width, aims to establish a crucial connectivity link between the Noida Airport's cargo terminal and the Yamuna Expressway. The road will be constructed along the airport's boundary wall, extending in a northeasterly direction.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) initially estimated the project cost at Rs 235.70 crores. Following a revised estimate submission, Yamuna Authority received approval for Rs 196.7 crore from the finance department of the state government.
