Gudlavalleru Engineering College Case:  Amid the massive student protests, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Friday ordered an inquiry into the allegations of a hidden camera in the bathroom of a women's hostel at the Gudlavalleru Engineering College in Andhra Pradesh's Krishna District. The camera had been recording private videos of girls, which were later leaked and sold by the key accused, officials said as quoted by various media reports.

The incident has sparked a huge uproar among the students and local community, with protests erupting at the engineering college campus.

Gudlavalleru College Camera Incident

The incident came to light when a group of female students found a hidden camera in one of the bathrooms at the girl's hostel on the Gudlavalleru College campus, triggering distress and anger among the students. The discovery led to a call for protests, which started yesterday and continued till today morning, as per an NDTV report.

Gudlavalleru Engineering College Case: One Arrested

The police have arrested a B.Tech final-year student from the college campus in relation to the case. The accused has been identified as Vijay Kumar, a resident of the boy's hostel. His laptop and other electronic gadgets were seized and further investigation was going on, the report added.

Reportedly 300 Videos Leaked

According to media reports, there were over 300 videos related to the incident. Some of the videos were allegedly sold by the prime suspect Vijay to several students. Police have said that they were thoroughly investigating the whole case and have yet to ascertain if more students were involved in setting up the camera or distribution of the videos.

CM Naidu Takes Stock Of Gudlavalleru College Case

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu took immediate note of the case and directed the authorities to conduct a swift inquiry into the case.

"Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has ordered an inquiry into the issue of hidden cameras in Gudlavalleru Engineering College, Krishna District. The CM ordered an inquiry into the concern of the students about the presence of hidden cameras in the hostel. The Chief Minister ordered District Collector and SP to go to the spot immediately along with District Minister Kollu Ravindra," TDP wrote in an X post.
