Gujarat Horror: A resident of Valsad in Gujarat narrowly avoided a serious accident on Tuesday when the lift he was using malfunctioned at the moment he was getting off.

The incident occurred at Sardar Heights Society and was recorded by the CCTV installed inside the lift. According to reports, the man, who lived on the ninth floor, had entered the lift and selected the ground floor. Footage shows him resting against the doors while waiting for it to descend.

After half a minute later, the doors open. As he begins stepping out, the lift abruptly shoots upward, almost crushing him between the cabin and the floor. His only suffered a minor injury after his head struck the door.

Following the incident, the elevator was reportedly shut down to prevent further risk.

In February, a shocking incident was reported from Mumbai, where gas-filled balloons suddenly exploded inside a building’s elevator, leaving two people seriously injured. The terrifying moment was captured on the lift’s CCTV camera.

The footage shows a woman, wearing a white shirt and carrying a small trolley bag, entering the elevator first and pressing the button for her floor. Moments later, a man carrying a large plastic bag filled with more than a dozen balloons enters the lift and moves towards a corner. Shortly after he steps inside, the balloons explode, triggering a massive burst of flames inside the enclosed space.
