A temple-like structure with statues of PM Modi and CM Yogi on a residential building in Gujarat faces legal action from the local authorities. The structure, built by scrap trader Mohanlal Gupta, is suspected to be a cover for an illegal additional floor. Gupta has been given a week to prove the legality of his building or face demolition.
The structure, located in Gadkhol village in Ankleshwar, has drawn public attention for its unusual combination of religious and political figures. Gupta has installed statues of deities Ram, Lakshman and Sita, as well as PM Modi and CM Yogi, on the terrace of his two-storey house.
The elaborate setup, however, came under the scanner after a citizen, Mansukh Rakhashiya, alerted the local authorities, suggesting the religious edifice was a strategic facade to prevent the demolition of an unauthorised additional floor.

The Bharuch Urban Area Authority (BAUDA) stated that Gupta had violated the building norms. BAUDA officials inspected the site on February 3 and confirmed that the structure was unapproved and illegal.
The authority subsequently issued a notice to Gupta, asking him to submit the relevant documents within seven days or face the consequences.
