Several cars parked in a parking lot caught fire in the IMT-Manesar area, killing a man who was severely burned, police said on Tuesday. A double-decker bus was among the three vehicles that caught fire late on Monday night, according to the police. Five firefighters rushed to the spot to put out the fire.

Police learned of the fire at approximately 11 PM on a bus that was parked outside Sector 3's plot number 56 in IMT-Manesar.

By the time police arrived, the fire had spread to two other vehicles, destroying all three.

Due to the darkness, police postponed the search of vehicles until the morning.

When a police team searched the vehicles in the morning, they discovered a charred body inside one of them. Police are yet to identify the person and determine the cause of the fire.

They are questioning the locals for any clues as to the cause of the fire, as well as reviewing CCTV footage from the area.

"We are investigating the reason for the fire. At present, the body has not been identified. It has been sent to the mortuary," ACP Manesar Surender Singh said.

In another incident, the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) issued a notice to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JLN) authorities asking them to not host any events in the stadium until the fire safety measures are renewed. The directive comes in the wake of a fire incident that took place around 7:30 am on March 13 in the stadium's CCTV room and claimed a man’s life.

Police stated that the fire broke out in the lower basement of the main building near P-1 tunnel of the JLN stadium where a man was found unconscious and later declared dead.
