Gurugram Metro Update: In a major update for the commuters, the Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has commenced the preparatory work at the Millennium City Centre. The authority asserted that the station will significantly boost the project and regional connectivity by connecting several other key stations, including Golf Course Road, Subhash Chowk, and Signature Chowk. It further stated that the metro services in the cyber city will provide relief to thousands of commuters by cutting the travel time and reducing the traffic congestion. However, the GMRL also clarified that the construction work will lead to traffic disruption in multiple regions, leading to slow vehicular movement.
While providing details, the authority stated that a traffic management plan is being discussed with the traffic police and other civic bodies of the city to minimise the inconveniences, reported the Times of India. The GMRL also stated that the construction will not lead to major trouble, as the diversion will ensure minimum inconvenience to the commuters of several regions, including Sector 9 and Palam Vihar.

Apart from this, the authorities further stated that the phased work schedules will reduce the trouble, adding that the commuters are likely to face issues during the peak hours. The authority is also planning to open the blocked roads during the construction to provide alternative routes to the commuters. While providing details, the authority stated that the 15.3-kilometer line will have a total of 14 elevated stations and a 1.8 km spur to the Dwarka Expressway.
The GMRL further stated that the metro line will significantly boost the regional connectivity by linking several key sectors of the city. It also asserted that the metro station will provide direct access to key regions such as Cyber City, Dwarka Expressway, and southern Gurugram.
