Gurugram Rains: Author and entrepreneur Suhel Seth didn’t hold back as he lashed out at the Haryana government for its handling of the rain-induced chaos in Gurugram, making it clear that this disaster couldn't be blamed on historical figures. “The BJP needs some serious introspection. They’ve been running this state for 11 years now. You can’t blame Nehru,” Seth posted on X (formerly Twitter), taking a direct shot at the state’s long-standing ruling party.
On a serious note: Gurugram is done. Like you can’t imagine. The first bloke to ruin this was @mlkhattar and @NayabSainiBJP just can’t manage this situation. The @BJP4India needs some serious introspection. They’ve been running this state for 11 years now. You can’t blame Nehru.

A heavy downpour on Monday evening wreaked havoc across Delhi-NCR, particularly in Gurugram, where waterlogged roads and flood-like conditions disrupted daily life. Seth, visibly frustrated with the situation, squarely blamed the current and previous administrations for letting the city fall apart.
Looks like Disneyland is already here.

It’s a Mickey Mouse Government. https://t.co/wQlp7xY6yZ
“On a serious note: Gurugram is done. Like you can’t imagine,” he wrote. He didn’t mince words when naming names either. “The first bloke to ruin this was Manohar Lal Khattar, and (the present Chief Minister) Nayab Singh Saini just can’t manage this situation," he added.
In another scathing remark, Seth reshared a post highlighting Gurugram’s condition and commented, “Looks like Disneyland is already here. It’s a Mickey Mouse Government.”
His criticism sparked a reaction from BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who pushed back by blaming past misgovernance and alleged collusion between private builders and the Congress. “If private builders, without government planning, collude with the Congress to build a city of corruption, it will turn into a city like Gurugram," Dubey posted on X.
“What will the government do? Cases should be filed and action taken against those builders and the officials of the then government,” he added, defending the current administration’s position.

Although, Monday's heavy rains may have brought relief from the heat, but they left parts of Gurugram and Delhi paralyzed, with severe traffic snarls, especially along the busy National Highway 48. Social media was flooded with videos showing commuters stuck in long jams for hours.
In response to the worsening weather, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) issued an advisory for Tuesday, urging residents to work from home. Schools were also asked to switch to online classes, as the IMD issued an orange alert forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall on September 2.
