Operation Sindoor Updates: In the wake of escalated tension between India and Pakistan, the authority on Wednesday announced that all civilian and commercial flight operations from Gwalior's Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Airport will remain suspended till May 9. The authority informed that the airport uses the runway of the Maharajpura airbase of the Indian Air Force for its operations, adding that the airbase is also used by the fighter aircraft.

Gwalior Airport Director Kashinath Yadav stated that the operation for all the civilian and commercial aircraft has been cancelled till Friday, reported PTI. While sharing the information on the social media platform X, the airport urged the passengers to cooperate and follow the guidelines to avoid any inconveniences. Apart from this, flight operations for civilians have been cancelled at multiple airports till May 10 after India carried out 'Operation Sindoor' against the terror outfits in Pakistan.

The flights were suspended at several key stations, including Leh, Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Jamnagar, Bhatinda, Bhuj, Dharamshala, Shimla, Rajkot, Porbandar, Bikaner, Hindon, Kishangarh, Kandla, and Gwalior. The airlines advised the passengers to follow the guidelines, adding that rescheduling can be done without any additional cost.

“Due to government notification on airspace restrictions, over 165 IndiGo flights from multiple airports (Amritsar, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Gwalior, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, Leh, Rajkot, and Srinagar) are cancelled until 5.29 am IST of May 10, 2025. Customers are encouraged to check their flight status on our website or mobile app before heading to the airport. Customers whose flights are affected can reschedule the booking on the next available flight or opt to cancel their bookings at no additional cost, and a full refund will be processed,” IndiGo stated in its advisory.
